The launch of The Bangladeshi power 100 2013 at the house of commons was said to be a triumph with the founder’s and joint editors Abdul Ullah and Ayesha Qureshi MBE.
They both made a joint statement saying “Congratulations to all members of the 2013 BBPower 100. You are the role models for generation BB.”
The British Bangladeshi power 100 is put together with three words in mind, Talent, Success, Inspiration.
The list is a who’s who in the Bangladeshi community from sports personalities, to politicians from business people to legal eagles, many of whom were present at the glamorous launch which was attended by Theresa May amongst other high profile personalities.
Some on the list included some well-known brands such as Ruby & Millie, the founder Ruby Hammer MBE, started off as a make-up artist and went on to become a successful entrepreneur.
Others on the list included Mayor Lutfur Rahmans of the London borough of Tower Hamlets. Channel S TV (Sky 814) founder Makee Ferdous Jalil.
Baroness Pola Uddin of Bethnal Green, representing the political circuit. Ajmal Hossain QC, an outstanding barrister.
Media personalities where plentiful on the 2013 list which included Nina Hossain, Konnie Huq and Tasmin Lucia-Khan to name a few.
There is he support for the Bangladeshi community from many high profile non Bangladeshi’s in the UK such as Sebastian Coe who said this during London 2012, our motto for the games was ‘Inspires a generation’, and I congratulate Ayesha and Abdul for using the BBPower 100 and the role of the Bangladeshi community.”
This then followed favourable comments from the ever popular Mayor of London Boris Johnson who said, “The BBPower 100 will undoubtedly profile and celebrate the community innumerable success, as well as inspiring the next generation of Bangladeshis leaders to contribute even more to the economic, social and cultural life of this great city.”
The Bangladeshi will continue to grow and grow as will the power 100 seeing new shinning lights in the community become beacons in the UK.
